Q. Does the lowered Lake
level cause any problems?
A. No. All ramp extensions and marina configurations were completed
in 2007. See the Dam Repairs page for (a lot
of) details and related links.
Q. Is there a dock
at any of the houses?
A. The lake is owned/operated by the Army Corps of Engineers so there are
very few docks on the lake. In fact, we are not aware of any rental homes that
are able to offer docks. Most visitors either trailer their boat daily or rent
a slip at either the Jamestown or Alligator marinas.
- The homes on Wesley Circle are only 2 miles from both Jamestown Marina and
the Lily Creek launch ramp. Both offer ample pull-thru parking.
- The Lorel Dunbar home is 1 mile from the Pleasant Hill launch ramp and 15
- 20 minutes (by car) to Jamestown Marina. It is located on a dead-end street
and also offers a good amount of parking.
Q. Is
there direct water access at any of the houses?
A. The water can be reached on foot from all 3 of the lakefront homes,
but the hills are fairly steep and wooded so it is not a walk that all guests
are comfortable taking.
Q. Is there a beach nearby?
A. We are not aware of any sandy beaches on Lake Cumberland.
However, many guests have visited the grassy picnic area that gently slopes to
the water. This is located roughly 20 minutes from Lorel Dunbar and 30
minutes from Wesley Circle by car.
There is also a fairly large area near the Pleasant Hill launch ramp (1 mile
from Lorel Dunbar) that has a gentle slope suitable for wade-in swimming and
beach chairs.
Q. What times are
check-in and check-out?
A. During Value and Peak Season, check-in is 3pm Central and check-out at
10am Central. These time may be extended during Low Season depending upon
availability.
Q. What days of the week are available for check-in and check-out?
A. Since we offer weekend-only stays during Value and Peak Season,
check-in and check-out is available any day of the week except Saturday
(subject to availability).
PLEASE NOTE: Sunday and/or Monday check-in/out may not be available during
holiday weekends.
Q. Is their a minimum
age requirement?
A. Due to the high quality of our accommodations, the person signing the
Rental Agreement must be at least 25 years of age.
Q. What linens are provided?
A. 1 set of sheets, blankets, and pillows are provided for each bed in
the bedrooms.
You will need to bring bedding if you plan to use the foldout beds or bunk bed
(Lorel Dunbar loft).
Bath/hand towels and washcloths are provided for 6 people in the 3 bedroom home; 8 people in the
4 bedroom homes.
Kitchen towels and dishcloths are provided in all homes.
Q. When is the
Security Deposit returned?
A. The Security Deposit is mailed to the guest within 2 weeks of
check-out.
Q. Where can we
rent boats and waverunners?
A. Waverunners and water trampolines are available at Jump-n-Ski Rentals
270-343-5600.
Their office is located on the
dock at Jamestown Marina.
Pontoons are available at Jamestown Marina.
Speed boats are available at State Dock Marina.
Q. What are the
sleeping arrangements?
A. Wesley Circle #1 (sleeps 10):
- 3 private bedrooms each having a queen bed
- 2 queen fold-out couches in downstairs family room
Wesley Circle #2 (sleeps 12):
- 4 private bedrooms offering 3 queen beds and 2 double
beds
- 1 double fold-out couch in downstairs family room
Lorel Dunbar (sleeps 13):
- 4 private bedrooms offering 4 queen beds
- 1 double fold-out couch
downstairs family room
- bunkbed in loft: bottom is a double fold-out futon; top is
single bed
- NOTE: due to slope of ceiling, top
bunk is most suitable for children
Q. Are the houses
located in a "resort"?
A. All of the houses are privately owned and located in quiet, rural
residential areas. If you are looking for a comfortable place where you
can take quiet walks, watch sunrises/sunsets/birds, or star gaze, you will not
be disappointed!
Q. Is there a pool
at any of the houses?
A. All of the houses are located on hills as close to the water as
allowed; therefore, pools are not possible. In addition to the crystal
clear lake waters, there are community pools located minutes away in Jamestown
and Russell Springs.
Additionally, many of our guests bring inflatable pools (and a hose) so that the
little ones can be well-supervised.
Q. Do you accept credit
cards?
A. Yes. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and JCB. There
is a 3.5% credit card fee for any rental payments may by credit card. There
is no fee for rental payments made by personal check or money order. There
is no credit card fee for the $250 security deposit charged to the credit card.
Q. Is there enough room
to park our vehicles and trailers?
A. Yes.
- Wesley 1 has enough pull thru parking to accommodate 2
trucks with trailers attached and 2 more vehicles. Jamestown Marina (5
minutes away) also has ample overflow trailer parking.
- Wesley 2 has enough pull thru parking to accommodate 2
trucks with trailers attached and 4 more vehicles. Jamestown Marina (5
minutes away) also has ample overflow trailer parking.
- Lorel Dunbar has enough pull thru parking to accommodate 2
trucks with trailers attached and 2 more vehicles. Since this home is
located on a dead-end street, it can be tricky to turnaround if your boat is
longer than 16 feet (though certainly possible).
